Repair of the chassi Posted on 03 Nov, 2014 23:01:13- Comments(2) https://bristol408.motorsterner.se/?p=9
In this blog I will share my experiences during restoration of my Bristol 408. The car has been in bits and pieces for many years. Engine, gearbox and rear axle are rebuilt earlier. The journey begins with preparation of the body and chassis before the car is going to the panel beater.
Sounds scary. Happend with my TVR Vixen. Vertical link snapped on high way, on slight bend. My ball joints measured well, but found small marks on one bearing half. Corresponding dent on ball must had been there before assembly. They will last another round. Also checked them cracks. Very straight forward design. Bought for handbuilt feeling to reasonable price. Wished for an Aston. Now hope for same rise in value.
I REMEMBER MY 408 the first drive with the steering wheel spokes like aircraft joystick
front suspention is intertesting the bottom ball joint is “upside down”
mine collapsed and car dropped to the ground.easy repair just turned new ring bearing.will keep in touch reg was
